As a London proposal photographer, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing countless magical moments, but one of the most memorable was when Sejdin contacted me in June 2025 to plan a surprise proposal during his trip from Austria with his girlfriend.
He was clear from the start: he wanted a romantic, peaceful location — something beautiful, blooming, and private. With proposal photography in London, timing and setting are everything, and I immediately thought of Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens in Regent’s Park. June is peak bloom season, when over 12,000 roses burst into colour, making it one of the most picturesque spots for an engagement in London.
Planning a Private London Proposal
During our chats, Sejdin mentioned that his girlfriend was shy and would feel overwhelmed by a public proposal. I knew that privacy during a proposal was key for this moment to feel truly special. So, we decided to meet at 8:30am, just after the gardens opened. This way, we could enjoy the peaceful beauty of the space before it got too busy with locals and tourists.
That morning, I arrived early and carefully scouted the perfect bench – one surrounded by lush roses and greenery. Out of all the benches, two stood out, and I chose the one that had the most vibrant blooms as the proposal spot. I messaged Sejdin to let him know where I'd be sitting – giving him a subtle sign.
Capturing the Moment – A Romantic Surprise Proposal in London
As they walked into the gardens, dressed in soft white pastels (which looked incredible against the colourful rose backdrop!), I watched them approach. His girlfriend tried to keep walking, but he gently led her to the bench. They sat, had a quiet moment, and then – he held her face, whispered something, and got down on one knee.
And just like that – it happened. The perfect proposal in London, captured candidly and quietly. She said yes, and in pure joy, he lifted her up, spun her around, and the whole moment was filled with raw, beautiful emotion.

Post-Proposal Couple Shoot in Regent’s Park
After the big “yes,” I gave them a little space to enjoy the moment before we wandered through the Rose Gardens for a relaxed engagement shoot. The morning light, blooming roses, and their post-proposal glow made for some truly stunning photographs.
They were such a beautiful, happy couple, and it was a joy to be part of their love story. I wish them all the happiness in the world as they start this new chapter together.
